I'd like to congratulate Leah and the Kelly Shawn crew for beating us on chopped liver in our little back-of -the-fleet battle on Saturday. Not for the usual reasons of trying to be gracious in defeat but rather to bring to the fleet's attention my own eye-witness of the outstanding work of flying their spinnaker down most of San Pablo Bay without a spinnaker pole, which had broken somewhere around Richmond. Sometimes the true heroics occur far from the eye of public attention surrounding the leaders!

Kudos to Tom, of course, for doing us so proud!

But I hope the fleet will be just as proud of Leah!
