I am very pleased to announce that the 2009 Santana 22 Nationals are shaping up to be a great regatta weekend. Representatives from Fleet One of San Francisco have had two productive meetings with members of the Corinthian Yacht Club (CYC). The Notice of Race is expected to be posted on the Corinthian's web-site in a few days along with the ability to register on-line.
There will be a practice race Friday, July 24, between picturesque Angel Island and Sausalito, the same location where the regatta will be held. The practice race has a scheduled start time of 1500. This will enable those, who choose to, to take CYC up on their offer to let Santana 22s participating in our Nationals, to race in the Friday night series, free of charge. On Saturday, July 25th, there are three races & on Sunday, there are two races.
The skippers meeting is at 0900 Saturday morning with the start of the start of the first race scheduled at 1100. The first race on Sunday is also scheduled to start at 1100.
We have been invited to the Friday night barbecue at the CYC and have arranged for a buffet dinner Saturday night. A light continental breakfast including coffee and pastries, will be available Saturday and Sunday mornings. Appetizers will be provided for the awards ceremony Sunday afternoon, following the races.
Registration on-line is expected to cost $70 (on-line registration will be closed after July 15th, after that the fee will increase to $85). You will be able to register the weekend of the regatta. Dinner tickets will be available on-line for $17 per person and later for $20 per person. Both polo style and tee-shirts, with a newly created Santana 22 logo, will be available. More details to follow.........
Hope to cross tacks with many of you soon.
